Hospice Hero

Dave Saker

In memory of my husband, Dave Saker, who lost his short battle with cancer in October, 2007, prior to the opening of Chapman House. Dr. Huff was in charge of his in-hospital care once being at home was no longer an option providing outstanding care to Dave, and also to our family in keeping us informed as his life came to an end. Although I was allowed to stay overnight to be with him, comfort was definitely lacking.

Since the opening of Chapman House I have personally known many families who have spent so much time with their loved one in their final days/weeks with an enjoyment for all concerned. This allowed them to recall memories, laugh, cry, sing, play music in a beautiful, bright, happy environment with exceptional staff.

My hope is that with continued community support many more families are able to share in the final days with their loved family member at Chapman House.
