Grey Bruce Hospice is grateful to the Community Foundation of Grey Bruce for their on-going commitment to funding the needs of local charities. Most recently, Grey Bruce Hospice received a grant to allow for Mental Health First Aid Training for clinical staff, provided by the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce.

In a wonderful collaboration of these three local organizations, Grey Bruce Hospice staff benefited from this important training. Clinical Coordinator Ann Elford shared “at Chapman House, we see a variety of patients and families with varying degrees of physical and mental health. Death tends to perpetuate mental health challenges and can be seen acutely in a hospice setting. The Mental Health First Aid Training has allowed our staff to improve their skills, as well as to improve their comfort level when managing challenging situations. We are very fortunate to have received this support from the Community Foundation to continue to provide professional development opportunities to our staff.”

If you would like to help support training for Grey Bruce Hospice staff, please reach out. For more information, please go to the Grey Bruce Hospice website at or call 519-370-7239 and speak to Amy McConachie, Donor Relations Coordinator.
